Go Terry!

For what its worth, I don't really see much evidence of anti-Muslim prejudice ( I can't bring myself to type in "Islamophobia) in my neighborhood. I live in Brampton, which is as "diverse" as it gets, and I see all sorts rubbing along together just fine. The current points of friction are between the various factions (Sects?) of Sikhs, and between Hindu and Muslim youth, who are being egged on to replay the conflicts from their homelands in the plazas and car-parks of our fair city.

In local politics (MPs, MPPs, city councillors), the Indian communities (both Sikh and Hindu) are dominating. The local school board (Peel) has been taken over by black activists who are riding the CRT wave. Wealthier Indians are setting up private schools to avoid the mess that this is creating, but I expect (hope) in the future that we will see increasing representation from the wider asian community to resist that nonsense, not to mention the tsunami of trans which is overwhelming everything.

But extreme Islamism has the potential to poison things here, and like CRT, has the tacit endorsement of our institutions. Your vigilance in this matter is much appreciated!

Trudeau's comments about Canada "having no core identity" and "being a post national state" we're more of a wish than a reality. He's been hard at work ever since to destroy it since then. Time to wake up and acknowledge that it is dangerous for Canada to let it go on.

Terry, again, again, again, I am blown away by your column.

In particular, your immense work ethic in just reading so many diverse sources of information is astounding. Then, you are able to collate those data points with the contacts that you have made over many years and continue to make and .... voila! ... we have journalism as it should be practiced.

Consider me an ongoing fan of your work, both with this column and so many others over the years.

As for the CBC? Well, I am firmly in the camp of those who see so much astoundingly stupid navel gazing in the CBC, oh, and, yesssss, an incredibly stupid blindness to their own biases. I think that the Northern Service of the CBC needs to be spun off and made it's own entity and then the rest should be told to be self-supporting - and paying taxes - whether by the PBS model or selling off it's assets or competing for advertising dollars (so sorry - not - Bell and Rogers: you would get more competition!). And, then allow that remainder to survive or sink according to whether it's supporters will pony up the cash.

And, as for the Liberals? If I am contemptuous of the CBC, my utter, unceasing and fully accurate contempt for JT and the sunny ways liars and thieves knows no bounds.

PS. I am shocked that Sam Cooper is being sued for reporting on the truth. I am hopeful it will be resolved in favour of Sam Or else this country is truly doomed.

You nailed it once again Terry. It is known that those who face the most hate crime in Canada, all Western Nations, and most every other country in the world, is the Jewish people. Anti-Semitism is at its highest levels since the 1930’s. Much of which is coming out of our Woke Western Universities where the indoctrination of all youth passing with in their hallways, are being stuffed full of Anti- Semitic rhetoric, that furthers the hate crimes being pressed upon innocent people. The rest of that hate is being placed on the Jewish population by the Muslim population and the far right? (I have yet to be introduced to a proud boy or any other far right group that the Prime Minister and his Cabinet continually speak of).

What do we do with the CBC? Hmm I would vote pry them out of the big Cities and set them up in cities like Saskatoon, Lethbridge, Kamloops , Prince Rupert, Churchill , Sudbury, Jonquiere, Carlton ..

The Rule.. no Capital Cities.

I suspect China’s just testing NORAD. I say "just" but it's pretty creepy.

From the comfort of her $5.4 million brownstone in New York City, CBC president Catherine Tait has turned the record sum of cash CBC received from the Liberal government into its worst ratings in history. I bet she gets a huge bonus for her stellar performance as head of the CBC.

Look, the CBC has been the propaganda arm of the Liberal party for a long time. And they got away with it because Canadians did not have access to much choice in television and radio. But now we have satellite radio and streaming services, Canadians are no longer forced to watch or listen to CBC’s biased, irrelevant and insipid progressive propaganda..

The reality is every year, fewer and fewer Canadians listen to or watch the CBC. We no longer need it, nor do most of us want it. Let those who want it fund it like PBS.

I lament that our system of governance elevates those willing to play as dirty as possible to win. Our institutions are in disarray and in need of broader engagement from the community. Unfortunately, zealots will always attempt to sieze and control what they can to create their own walled gardens out of our shared spaces. It has always been the way, back to our country's founding. We've removed old gods only to erect new ones. And those being worshipped at the moment in our institutions are simple lies told to mask their failure to grapple with complex problems honestly and forthrightly.

I have not regretted signing up for this Substack. Reasonable Canadians, of all backgrounds, are waking up to the nonsense being done with our tax dollars. Keep up the good reporting sir, and I will happily keep up the support.
