The LGBT lobby refuses to denounce queer-hating groups, like Hamas, and countries, like Iran. Instead, they treat them as the “good guys”. But they denounce the western nations that have made huge strides in LGBT tolerance, and treat them as the “bad guys”. Isn’t that queer?

Let's just see if the closing parade gets cancelled again in mid-walk, as last year's did, when CUPE Ontario president Fred Hahn, OPSIEU president JP Hornick, and a few others started up a Gaza-related chant session, leading Pride March president Modeste to end the march early over safety concerns. I'd be surprised if there isn't a repeat.

I’d like to see more time remembering and honouring the men and women that fought in WW 2 for our freedom. Freedom, the pride participants would not have under a nazi rule. And they don’t have rights in Iran or under Hamas rule today. Let’s celebrate freedom if you’re straight or not. Many people in many countries still strive to be free.

Yes

A good friend takes exception to the fact we have one day for veterans but a month for alphabet folks.

Just one more misplaced priority in the magical thinking west.

Is anyone else tired of the 'special' days which seem to have evolved into lasting all summer? Surely we have reached a time when humans, in all our diversity, including same sex relations, are accepted in Western societies.

Mr. Litwin, I have watched with a real lack of enthusiasm as the 'gay' population has been pushed aside after all the work they did for the cause of gay recognition. Gay men used to hide in the closet (how old fashioned of me to say that) but now there whole rainbow of misunderstood, misgendered, two spirited, and so on folks have grabbed the lime light all in the name of 'pride'. You can be as proud of yourselves as you like but I believe that you folks have all the rights that the 'gay' activists in the '80s and '90s protested for - mostly respectfully I might add.

What bothers me the most - and to be clear I am not gay but rather heterosexual - is that gay men have been pushed aside and are actively discriminated against by the other diverse sexual orientation folks. Gay men will be a rarity in the future as we use hormone blockers, other drugs and surgery to 'release' the inner whatever

Frankly, I don't care what you do in the privacy of your own home, don't care who you live with either - you live your life while I live mine. What I am finding increasingly objectionable is the parading of naked men (didn't that used to be public nudity??), drag queens reading in libraries and the increasing amount of gender fluidity encouraged in our school system. How be we just agree to go along and get along folks.

Great commentary by Fred Litwin. Hits the nail on the head. One important omission though: Fred should have mentioned that the only Middle East country that has a Pride Parade is Israel.

You can take that one further, Israel is the only country in the Middle East that does not persecute, or execute, people who identify as 2LBGTQ+++.

I found this for one of the mysterious Pride people:

“LeZlie Lee Kam became a client partner with VHA two years ago. She is widely known as the “proud brown, Trini, Carib, callaloo, differently-abled, queer dyke elder.”

Photos look male but what do I know?

Also it’s dated 2018. Still using “she.”

Sadly, the bulk of the population don't care but no doubt a gay sceptic politician will use the general apathy to amplify their own prejudice souring what was once a source of communal pride.
