Unfortunately the CBC has pushed itself (or been pushed) into a region of almost total irrelevancy. I’d hesitate to use them for a source for anything other than the latest Trudeau haircut. While there are still capable, unbiased journalists employed by the CBC, they are the exception. A recent piece by Aaron Wherry is a good example of what you refer to. Makes one wonder why Vassy Kapelos left the Mothercorp.

Canada Files is a weird pseudoleft vanity project of a guy named Aidan Jonah who is a dumber version of Alex Jones. That story you linked to contains several falsehoods and libels in the first four paragraphs. Sam could sue, but he'd have to prove to a judge that his reputation had been damaged - by Canada Files - so the judge would just laugh and toss the case.
