Imagine the pain and outrage Israelis justifiably feel when observing the sudden overflow of hate. The people out Protesting in Canada for Palestinians/Hamas To The River From Sea need to be made to sit down and look at each an every photo that Hamas Palestinians have taken, of their atrocities. One cannot watch everything on the Hamas website, which another of your commenters provided a link to. Pure evil was unleashed on October 7 and these sadists are proud of what they did/intend to do. The goal of Hamas is to erase Israel and all Jews living there by torture and murder, pure and simple. On the final two screens of the website, all Hamas goals are clearly listed together with how they are to be achieved; basically this is a short step-by-step manual on the principals and methodology of taking over a country and establishing an Islamic government. I have heard from someone who tried to read an English translation that the Koran is full of atrocities that believers are commanded to commit on all "infidels" and therefore the Koran becomes unreadable long before the end. The day after the nation of Israel was created in 1948, it was attacked by its Islamic neighbor countries and has been under a state of tension or outright Islamic attack with resultant war ever since.
Our federal government is encouraging millions of newcomers annually into our country. No precise number of arrivals (temporary, permanent, legal and illegal) who want to stay seems to be available. Our PM recently issued a special invitation to all Gazans to come here too. There are exceedingly high numbers of immigrants of Islamic extraction already here and arriving daily, and their presence together with their sympathizers is destabilizing because of their threats to our Jewish population at their now constant "demonstrations" being held in our cities. At these demonstrations, the destruction of Israel and the death of all Jews is being loudly called for. Certainly sounds like "hate speech" with a threatening undertone to the average listener. They have come here to partake of our benefits and generosity, but have brought all the old grievances from their homelands with them. They support the sadistic atrocities which were perpetrated on innocent people on October 7 in Israel. They are calling for more of this to continue.
The behavior and words of our federal government as recorded by the media regarding the war in Israel, and our government's cultivation of "demonstrations" supporting the October 7 atrocities constitute a betrayal of its responsibility to the country and to its citizens. If a government does not condemn unconscionable behavior from its residents, then by default it cultivates that behavior. As a modern democracy, a G7 country and a member of NATO, Canada is expected to know right from wrong and to lead the country, rather than wobble along according to the agendas of its regional voters.

As an 88 year old woman, I haved lived through many world events, but I cannot remember a time when pure evil was so wide spread in the world as it seems to be now. And where is the world leader willing to tell us that we, in the western democracies, will have to sacrifice some of our comforts to win the battle against evil? Non-existent it seems.

I suspect that the main beneficiaries of Canada's Foreign Student "Program," the fast-food chains, big retailers, and delivery services looking for a cheap supply of labour, have friends in both the Liberal Party and among "Chamber of Commerce" Conservative-types.
A lot of business problems are solved with an endless supply of "students" who the government just happen to allow to work "part-time" as they "pursue their studies" at various diploma mills and less-than-innocent post-secondary institutions.

What is your view on the Middle East conflict being about the Leviathan gas field, did you see Jimmy Dore’s bit? There’s others as well. When money is at stake everything seems to make more sense. Word is emails show Israel had sufficient warning to know the Oct 7th attacks were coming and did nothing - having been attacked would make it a lot easier to make a case the Gaza area needed to be cleared out and that certainly would simplify getting this gas field supplying the void in Europe left by Nord Stream. With things that keep happening in this world this seems as plausible a reason as any. Or do you feel we are simply being manipulated yet again for some other reason?
I do think you have much of your general critique of the Left wrong. There is a swath of loud, fanatical ideologues, yes that’s true. But most Leftists are critical of Hamas and what they did and their theocratic goals. The problem is the Palestinian cause - which unlike South Africa and Ireland - has not been resolved despite its legitimacy and international law. Palestinians do not support Hamas because of the theocracy but they are falling for the only game in town because everything has failed them. Getting to the two state solution is still the necessary goal, despite the failure of Oslo (are you unaware of why Oslo failed?) and despite the cynicism about 2SS from all sides.
