"Democracy" is just a fake veneer they paint over their corruption and greed as they deal away our rights, our interests and our resources.

No, nothings been turned around. Even you - a demonstrably smart man - can’t see that this Ukraine nonsense is just another proxy war and should be denounced at every turn, and is in no way a clarion call for democracy (whatever that means anymore, anyway)
Interesting that the Atlantic posits a future in which an unconfronted Russia is unstoppably advancing toward the rest of Europe, yet in much of the reporting the same foe is apparently simultaneously incompetent, undertrained, underfunded and unprepared? I seem to remember another media story where it was “evil genius who’s going to take your rights away” one day and “orange buffoon has small hands” the next. Consistency, it seems, is not the media’s focus.
Stronger leaders and those who represent their democratic institutions would have forced peace months ago….But come now, there’s money to be made!
Timothy Snyder put it best when he said every day the Ukrainians fight, they give us another year. Same with the Taiwanese, the Iranian and Chinese protesters, and all the rest of the folks you mentioned.
