So why is Carney going along with Xi? Is it that:

1) He has a level of admiration for China's dictatorship,

2) He doesn't know or want to know about Chinese wrongdoings,

3) Slavery improves Brookfield's profitability,

4) Funds are being deposited in offshore accounts, or

5) There are threats to his life, or

6) China can keep him in office so certain documents will not come to light?

7) All of the above.

"The capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them". Although Lenin is alleged to have said this, it is now generally agreed he didn't. However, it seems that the quote is very apropos of the direction PM Carney would like to take us with respect to Red China. There seems to be complete indifference in Canada to any international event that doesn't involve President Trump. It is also apparent there is no end of indignation concerning Israel, yet strangely with China, complete indifference. Under PM Trudeau, we were told our country was an abomination, and we were responsible for all of the bad things in the world. So why should we be surprised that nobody cares about the state of their nation, unless President Trump makes a stupid comment.

This was an utterly depressing and infuriating to read. It is almost as though our PM has been busying himself to find more ways to kowtow to China. So much for the alleged brilliance of Mr. Carney, saviour of the country.

I had hoped this relationship would have, at the very least,Canada standing up to Xie and being firm that Canada would no longer tolerate the security incursions of China into our country and have measures to retaliate.

What to do. China is massive and we are not. Surely we could have some indications

of a backbone and principles from our government, though.

The Liberal government just seems to have capitulated since being elected to be the non Trudeau government. The media was wrong; he is more like Trudeau than expected.

And Mark Carney did campaign on being very different from Justin.

I was hoping for better.

This coziness with Beijing is the only thing keeping me from being supportive of Carney, and it is huge to me. I have been disgusted with Canadian government for a long time with their willingness to get cozy with Beijing. It was the Tiananmen massacre when I was a teenager and our government’s limp response to it that made me aware of this. I have been disgusted ever since.

For anyone paying attention, the LPC under both Carney and Trudeau both support and, in some ways, admire the stranglehold China has on its citizens. Did you really think Carney was a “liberal”? Is Canada a “liberal” country any longer? Can anyone answer what democracy really means? Does it mean to champion individual rights, the freedom to alienate your own labour, small government accountable to the citizenry, free markets, enlightenment rationalism, equal application of the law, and to be free from government coercion in speech and free flow of information? I’d say Yes to the above. Is it the LPC view of democracy, which seems to be a citizenry fed a diet of carefully curated and disseminated information, media that REFUSES its job as the 4 th estate, the adoption of CRT tenets and their praxis such as DIE initiatives, a carefully controlled economy that picks winners and losers through government/corporate interest mergence (which is a tenet of fascism, BTW) massive redistribution policies, and unequal application of the law? I’d say no, it’s not: but this is what it is.

It’s obvious Canadian “democracy” is not actual democracy. When a vote in PEI counts 3xs more than one in Alberta, it’s not democracy. When information isn’t allowed to flow, it isn’t democracy. When you are judged and hired for (mostly) all government jobs based upon your skin colour, sexual orientation and preferences, it isn’t a democracy.

Stop lamenting the abdication of “Canadian values”. There IS no adherence to founding values, intentionally so.

My question is, what to do? What mechanisms exist to at the very least, raise awareness?

FFS: I’m Jewish on my mother’s side and even the federal “antisemitism” newly minted group has raging antisemites on its roster.

if it weren’t for familial ties, we’d be gone. Will leave once it’s no longer an issue, and will take our whole extended family with. I don’t want my 3 grandkids here. There’s no future.

(And no; I’m not going to Israel).

The new group to ‘fight’ antisemitism..

. Given who was appointed to this group, it seems to be a pro Jew hating group! How the hell did the Liberals get even this so wrong?

Was it deliberate? An attempt to discourage Jews to become so dispirited that they will start to leave Canada in large numbers?

Or just the usual closeted antisemitism?
