Another update: B’nai Brith Canada is calling on Toronto to take action against the Al Quds Day hatefest that takes place annually in the heart of the city.

Late last month, participants chanted genocidal slogans and speakers praised terrorists, creating a hostile environment for Jews in the streets downtown. Toronto is Canada’s largest city. In response, B’nai Brith has launched a petition calling on the City of Toronto to ban these venomous gatherings. This is not a novel concept, Berlin, Germany, fed up with the caustic nature of Al Quds Day, have banned their occurrence.

Speakers in Toronto at Al Quds Day 2023 included Khaled Barakat, a senior member of the PFLP, and Charlotte Kates, International Coordinator of Samidoun, both of whom are the subjects of ongoing B’nai Brith investigations for their Canada-based activities.

Just got this from the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Centre. “It’s infuriating that groups and individuals are given free rein to incite hatred and violence under the guise of anti-Israel activism,” said FSWC President and CEO Michael Levitt. “The conference and its declaration clearly promote the complete erasure of Israel and its Jewish people through terrorism. Furthermore, by rejecting Canada’s listing of ‘Palestinian, Lebanese and Arab resistance forces’ as terrorist entities, the conference organizers have made it clear they support terror groups such as the PFLP, Hamas and Hezbollah, among others. It’s extremely disturbing that an event space has allowed such a hate-fuelled conference to take place, and that those such as Samidoun and Barakat continue to operate with impunity in promoting violence and terror.” https://www.fswc.ca/news/fswc-deeply-troubled-by-ottawa-conference-promoted-terrorism-destruction-of-israel

Wonder if the LPC will ever pay a price for this government's neglect of our country?

Highly unlikely as it will get shoved under the rug as always as even in Parliament the Speaker of the House said they would not take the Conservative’s recommendation for an emergency discussion in Parliament about this. The Speaker just tossed it aside like there was nothing to see there. With the aid of the Public service and bureaucrats they can keep the Conservatives at bay and we all know, how short of a memory Canadians have. Trudeau and his Liberal/coalition Government will have the aid of the corporate media to push their propaganda, making them look stellar, regardless of their utter tyranny. With the new push for electronic voting starting and being implemented in some Provinces it should be a shoe in for the Liberal’s come election time. I have lost all hope and trust at this point. They lie to our faces and do not even bat an eye anymore.

Terry and many other true journalists have been speaking for years on this and yet nothing is done and Canadians vote the same people back in furthering the infiltration and destruction of our democracy and freedoms. The cultural Revolution is all part and parcel of the Mao doctrine which has spread far and wide in this country under their Marxist/Postmodern ideology. It is seeping from our institutions, ourPrime Minister and his coalition government, and is pushed in the Universities to unsuspecting youth who truly believe the garbage science and that they are saving the world. It’s the same tactics that Mao and most Totalitarian Marxists/postmodernists use. So here we are. It seems to get worse as we go regardless of those who speak truth to power like Terry, Bob Fife, Sam Cooper, and independent media. I blame my fellow Canadians for their short memories and lack of giving a dam as much as this horrendously captured Liberal/NDP Coalition Government! I am sorry for the rant but I am mad as hell. I won’t even touch on the terrorists and other Tyrant’s being aided by this coalition as I still have a build up of steam.

Thanks for that Marylou, but: "Trudeau and his Liberal/coalition Government will have the aid of the corporate media to push their propaganda, making them look stellar, regardless of their utter tyranny." Almost all my work on China and Beijing's influence ops in Canada have appeared in "the corporate media," mostly the National Post and the Ottawa Citizen but also Macleans (before Macleans turfed a dozen of us and turned itself into a national version of Toronto Life), and the Globe and Mail and Global News have been breaking the biggest stories these past few weeks.

I am sorry for the misinterpretation in my writing. I am not scoffing at all mainstream corporate media Terry. I have a subscription to the National Post. I cancelled my local paper as it was just reprinted articles from the Canadian Press and I think we can all live with out them or the CBC. I tend to follow real journalists, such as your self, and those who are able to tell fact from fiction and go after the truth. The journalists that are actually doing their job and holding the powerful to account. Without you and a few others, our democracy would be truly non existent, as it was through out COVID. When the media colludes with government and the powerful, we no longer have a democracy. Now with C-11 we know for sure that Canada is in deep trouble, let alone the known interference in our elections by the CCP. I follow the journalists I trust over the media outlets themselves as I find the Corporate Media leadership to be completely untrustworthy.

I appreciate your work, regardless of where it appears, as I know you actually investigate and attempt to hold those involved accountable for their actions. Many others do quite the opposite and shrill for, and protect the government from scrutiny and accountability. Those people are not journalists, nor is it journalism that they practice. Unfortunately for Canadian’s, they are in the majority today.

Thanks for that, Marylou. My comment was mostly a consequence of my tendency to encourage people to cheer up, 'it's not so bad!', that sort of thing. I admit it's advice I have a hard time taking myself.

So the corollary is "Canadians on the whole are cool with this"?

Unfortunately, the answer to that question is a decided Yes. I once thought that Canadians were simply complacent, compliant and docile. The widespread condemnation of the Freedom Convoy revealed that too many of us will sacrifice true freedom for peace and order. Trudeau knows it and plays on it.

What’s a Canadian? Perhaps there are people holding a Canadian passport who receive enough of what makes them happy to ignore the things that don’t.

I think it's much worse than neglect. I believe they are complicit in the dismantling and destruction of our democracy and country.

Odds are that we'll see a Conservative government elected at the next Federal Election. Canadians have a longstanding tradition of denying prime ministers more than three consecutive terms, with MacKenzie King being the exception, due to the ongoing WW II.

Singh has good support so unfortunately we may see a LPC/NDP coalition next election.

I am not sure conservatives will ever be re-elected as it appears the large urban and Atlantic regions like socialism.

Western Canada traditionally votes conservative but Canadian governments are generally elected before Manitoba votes are counted (and Alberta & BC haven't finished voting).

Without constitutional changes for Senate reform where we have an elected, equal and effective senate the West will continue to have little to no say on how we are governed. Quebec and Ontario will never allow this senate reform to happen because it isn't in their best interests to allow the West a say in our governance, plus the fact they will lose the huge handouts given out by governments to ensure their votes.

If conservatives are ever re-elected it will be because they have gone left of centre to appeal to these areas.

I'm still holding some hope that Canadians will be so tired of head weasel, Trudeau, and his political support post, Singh, and their sneak of weasels caucuses that they'll vote CPC. [I know - it's crazy talk, but without hope, what is there?]

To honour our much valued and hard-working journalists today, Wednesday, May 3, 2023 which is World Press Freedom Day, I share an inspirational quote from a letter Thomas Jefferson wrote to Dr. James Currie on January 28, 1786, where he expressed his belief in the fundamental importance of a free press in a democratic society.

“Our liberty depends on the freedom of the press, and that cannot be limited without being lost.”

The quote reflects Jefferson's view that a free press is essential to the functioning of a democratic government and the protection of individual liberties. He believed that the press had a vital role to play in holding those in power accountable and informing citizens about important issues, and that any attempt to restrict or censor the press would be a threat to the foundations of democracy.

Keep up the good fight, and keep the faith.

Thanks for this, James. If I'm not mistaken it was also Jeffoerson who said that if he were given the choice between government without newspapers and newspapers without government, he'd choose the latter.

Unfortunately the Trudeau government seems to be too close with too many non-democratic entities.

Look on the bright side. Bill C-11 just breezed through that chamber of "sober second thought" so most Canadians will never see this report. Thankfully I'm a paid subscriber. Let's add some more to keep true journalism alive a bit longer.

As an aside, I observe the Maple Leafs have the logo of Tik Tok on their helmets. Only in Canada.
